Walter Emanuel Jones hails from the west side of Detroit, Michigan, where he navigated the challenges of a low-income, single-parent household with resilience and determination. Surrounded by love and instilled with strong family values, Walter triumphed over the adversity of his neighborhood, overcoming the pitfalls of drugs and violence. His journey has led him to become a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, showcasing not only his talents but also his compassionate spirit, evident in his infinite enthusiasm for life.

A true “triple-threat,” Walter has proven himself as a versatile actor, dancer, and singer. Internationally acclaimed for his groundbreaking role as Zach, the Original Black Ranger, he created the first Black superhero in live-action television on the iconic children’s series, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

30 years later Walter reprised his role for the 1-hour anniversary special Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always, which peaked at #3 on Netflix Movies! The global success of the April 19, 2023, airing attests to the enduring impact of his character. Walter’s worldwide fan base eagerly welcomes him as he travels across the globe and autographing merchandise inspired by his iconic superhero.

Beyond his role as the Black Ranger, Walter’s extensive acting credits include noteworthy appearances in acclaimed productions such as the Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning police drama The Shield, the top-rated series CSI, and the enduring comedy hit Moesha. More recently Walter can be seen in a cameo for the comedy film House Party which was released in January of 2023 on MAX, and is in negotiations for exciting film projects scheduled for 2024. Alongside his acting pursuits, Walter actively engages in voice acting for radio, television, film, and video games, maintaining a dynamic presence on social media, and launching an upcoming YouTube adventure show!

Walter’s dance prowess is equally remarkable, spanning a spectrum of styles from Salsa and Latin dances to Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, and Tap. As a teacher and choreographer, he has shared his love for dance both nationally and internationally. Notably, he represented the United States at the 1992 Olympic Closing Ceremonies in Barcelona and earned the title of the 2004 Mayan World Champion in the world of Salsa.

His belief that “to teach someone to dance is to give them a gift that lasts a lifetime” underscores his commitment to sharing this art form with others. An accomplished salsa instructor in prestigious Los Angeles venues, Walter has shared his dance gift with Hollywood’s elite, including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Van Diesel, Jada Pinkett Smith, and more. Recognized for his contributions, he was honored as an Ibo Chief by His Majesty Igwe P.N. Anugwu in Nigeria, receiving the Ibo name Ugomba, meaning “The National Eagle.”

Currently residing in Los Angeles, California, Walter treasures his role as a father of two and enjoys creating music, partner dancing, camping, scuba diving, snowboarding, and embarking on adventurous travels.
